Questions

What does Microbiology Testing mean?2020-03-11T12:33:54+00:00

Microbiology is the study of living organisms too small to see without a microscope. Here at BioLabTests we focus primarily on testing for bacteria, yeasts and fungi.

Do you test for viruses?2020-03-11T12:34:21+00:00

Unfortunately, we do not test for viruses. Here at BioLabTests, our expertise lies primarily with bacteria, fungi and yeasts.

What are your turnaround times?2020-03-11T12:34:50+00:00

This will depend upon the project that is being undertaken. We normally endeavour to have reports/test certificates to our customers within 2-3 weeks from payment, however if the project is extensive, this can usually take a little longer. Any testing that involves fungi can take approximately 5-15 days to grow. Our customers will always be given realistic timeframes and will also be notified if there is a delay.

How do we get our results?2020-03-11T12:35:13+00:00

Sometimes, our customers require a full report which will include raw data, photographs, methods, results and conclusions. This can be sent electronically or via postal service as a hard copy. Depending on the project, some customers only wish to have their results in the form of a test certificate. We always work with our customers to gain an understanding of their needs and requirements.

Are all enquires and testing data kept confidential?2020-03-11T12:35:38+00:00

Yes. All information sent between BioLabTests and the customer is kept confidential and your test results will never be revealed to a third party without your permission. Should we wish to use the data further down the line for research purposes and/or blog posts, we will ask for your permission before we do this. Your company details and personal information would not be disclosed; only test results with a reference to a third party company and your results will be used.
If you do not wish for your results to be used, we will not use them.

How much does testing cost?2020-03-11T12:36:14+00:00

The cost of testing is dependent upon the nature of the enquiry, the length of the project and the availability of consumables in the laboratory. It is individually tailored to the needs of each customer. Please call us or send us an email with your enquiry at info@biolabtests.com and provide us with as much information as possible in order to process your quotation.

Do you have a clean room?2020-03-11T12:36:37+00:00

Unfortunately, we do not have a clean room as we do not perform sterility checks.

Can you do sterility testing?2020-04-23T12:25:15+01:00

As we do not have a clean room, we cannot test sterile products.

Can you test human or animal samples?2020-04-23T12:40:00+01:00

Unfortunately, we cannot test samples from people or animals for what the samples contain or offer any diagnostic advice. Please note, we will not be able to offer you guidance on anything relating to this, nor can we offer any medical advice as we are not registered or qualified to do so. Please seek appropriate medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional such as a GP or Vet.
